Well that’s one way to let him know! Charlize Theron stopped answering her phone during Cannes Film Festival anytime fiancé Sean Penn rang her, according to a new report. Now, the two have split up, and it looks like it’s for good.

Though Charlize Theron, 39, and Sean Penn, 54, seemed happy as could be while attending the Cannes Film Festival back in May, there was trouble brewing behind the scenes. Despite the ex-couple’s sunny exterior, they were secretly butting heads, prompting Charlize to stop speaking to Sean altogether during the film fest. What?

So what’s up Charlize? The Mad Max: Fury Road star abruptly ended contact with her former fiancé while they were attending Cannes together, according to a source close to Sean who spoke to US Weekly. “Charlize wasn’t responding to his calls and texts,” the source said. “She just cut it off.” Yikes! It will be interesting to hear what happened at Cannes, as the couple seemed happy and in love for the majority of the film fest. They were staying close together, taking in all the annual event had to offer. Was he secretly being a bad boy? “Sean and Charlize looked very happy together while at the Hotel Du Cap with no signs of tension or a breakup,” a second eyewitness tells the magazine. Clearly, something happened at Cannes that made Charlize so upset that she wouldn’t even talk to him! Charlize ended things ultimately because she realized they’re on two different wavelengths: Sean is so serious and can’t tear himself away from his work, while Charlize felt she needed to get out of his “intense atmosphere,” according to an insider who spoke to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

Congrats! Charlize Theron has secretly adopted a baby girl, following her split with Sean Penn. This is the second child Charlize has adopted — she already has a son, Jackson.

Well, this came out of the blue! Congratulations to Charlize Theron, 39, who is now a mother to a new baby girl! The Mad Max beauty secretly adopted another baby in July — a sister for her son, Jackson, 4, and we couldn’t be happier for her. The adoption comes just a few months afterher breakup with actor and fiance Sean Penn, 54.

Details about the new arrival are quite scarce, but Charlize has been working with an adoption agency for six months in her quest to add to her brood, TMZ reports. However, we do know it’s an African-American baby girl, and she was born in the United States. Her name is August. So cute!

Intriguingly, given the time frame Charlize was working on adoption proceedings, Sean must have known she was planning on adding to her family! Was Charlize’s decision to adopt a deal-breaker in their relationship? Did Sean not want to adopt? Or could it be something that brings them back together? These are questions that are all left unanswered for now. But Charlize must be over the moon to be a mom again!

In an interview with W magazine in April 2015, the Oscar winner revealed how rewarding it is being a mother. “I do know that choosing to be a mom in my late 30s has been really great for me,” she told the magazine. “It’s given me perspective,” she added. Charlize famously adopted son Jackson back in 2012.

HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY that Sean’s intense and serious personality was something Charlize struggled with.  “Charlize was seeing that it was just too intense for her and she needed a breather,” our source said. “She still loves him and respects him to the fullest but she just needed to get out of his intense atmosphere. She is still very young at heart and he plays things by the book.”

Charlize and Sean, who started dating in December 2013, had been friends for decades before their relationship turned romantic. And in December 2014, they reportedly got engaged during a trip to Paris. There was never a ring, but they were “committed,” the magazine claims. Sean even recently filed to adopt Charlize’s son.

In March, Senn said that he was ready to become Charlize’s husband, following his previous failed marriages. “You say I’ve been married twice before, but I’ve been married under circumstances where I was less informed than I am today,” the Oscar winner told Esquire UK. “So I wouldn’t even consider [marrying Charlize as] a third marriage, I’d consider it a first marriage on its own terms if I got married again. I mean, I like the tradition. A friend of mine wrote a line, ‘Without tradition, new things die.’ And I don’t want new things to die.”

And in April, Charlize told the same magazine, “I’m a very, very, very lucky girl. Very lucky. He’s hot.”

For some reason, those feelings must have changed because according to Us Weekly, Charlize ended the relationship.

Charlize Theron looked absolutely stunning at the LA premiere of her new film, ‘Dark Places.’ She looked so feminine and summery in a bright mini dress and we love it! What do you think of her look?

Charlize Theron, 39, arrived at the premiere of her new film, DIRECTV’s, Dark Places, presented by Apothic Wines, on July 21 at the Harmony Gold Theatre in LA. She looked amazing in a bright floral frock and a cute summer braid. Altogether, her look was perfect — do you agree?

Wow, could you believe that Charlize is almost 40? She does not look a day over 25 in this Dior Resort 2016 mini dress that showcases her long, lean arms and legs. The dress features a halter-neck top, with barely visible straps, and a tight bodice. The neckline showcases her toned arms and the bottom half of the dress is pleated and ruffled, and puts her unbelievably sexy legs on full display.

We love the pattern and colors of the dress — a light pink with yellow paint splatters — it is so bright and fun. She accessorized perfectly with a light pink Dior satin clutch, Harry Winston jewels, and nude patent leather heels.

We have to say, though, this dress would not have looked nearly as gorgeous if Charlize didn’t throw her blonde locks into this flawless updo. Her hair was twisted into a slicked-back bun, and tight french braid pulled her hair back on either side of her breathtaking face.

This look is such a drastic change from her previous premiere look in Paris back in March, where she sported a black sequin Dior strapless midi dress. She looked equally as sexy then, but we love this mini dress for the summer.
